Huskies Win Again at Home

New Hampton took on a strong Proctor Academy side on Friday night in front of a great home crowd.

The Huskies took an early lead after Addy Peel beat her mark to the near post to complete a one-touch finish from a Heidi Smith corner. Despite pushing forward, New Hampton would be held to the lone goal going in to the half.

New Hampton would come out strong in the second half, doubling their lead after Casey Stores won the ball in midfield and split the Proctor defense with a through ball to Ava Perry who would race past the defenders and finish inside of the far post for her first of the season.

14 minutes in to the second half, Zuri Jimenez would get on the board after winning a loose ball 30 yards from goal and dribbling through the defense before slotting home New Hampton's third from just inside the 18-yard box.

The Huskies would wrap up the scoring after Stores fought to win a loose ball that she'd play to the feet of Perry, who then played the ball into space for Audra Custance to run onto before firing the final goal into the back of the net to end the game at 4-0.

New Hampton picked up their third shutout of the season with Danika Virgin in net and a committed defensive effort from Smith, Peel, Gianna Young, Fia Swormstedt, Avery Lucier, and Kristen Vinagro.
