The Huskies fall to the Wildcats

Our Huskies traveled two hours to Vermont Academy for our third game of the season. The long trip seemed to take its toll, and unfortunately, we never quite found our rhythm. We looked like a shadow of the team that earned a great win against Holderness earlier in the week.

Our captains once again set the tone with their leadership, especially Trey, who played exceptionally well in net despite facing constant pressure. Unfortunately, Sean left the field injured in the first half, which forced us to shift our defensive line. In his absence, Dario did a fantastic job stepping into the back line on his first day, integrating quickly and playing with composure.

Luis was also inspiring in the midfield, bringing a positive attitude and determination to make an impact right up until the final whistle. It was exciting to see Juan Jorge make his debut on the left flank and contribute with great energy.

We learned a lot from this game, and it reminded us where we need to focus—passing, positioning, and conditioning. Despite the result, we know that on our best day, we can compete with a team of Vermont’s caliber. We’re confident this group will bounce back, and the growth we’ve already seen gives us every reason to be optimistic moving forward.

We look forward to applying everything we learned on Saturday against Phillips Exeter Academy at home on Wednesday.
