A Hard Fought Battle at Winchendon!

The Men’s Varsity B Hockey Team went down to Massachusetts to battle a tough opponent in Winchendon. The beginning of the game was a back-and-forth contest with goalie Jakob Ahearn fighting off multiple shots early to keep the first period to a score of 1-0. Winchendon’s only 1st period goal game from a Winchendon Powerplay.

The 2nd period seemed to be all Winchendon with two more quick goals to increase their lead to 3-0. With time running down in the 2nd period, team captain Jack O’Connor cut the lead to 3-1 after diving for a loose puck and taking it back into the zone for a goal.

At the beginning of the 3rd period Jack O’Connor continued to push the huskies forward as he capitalized for his second goal of the game cutting the lead to 3-2. After a tough 3rd period, Winchendon continued to get shots to the net for a final score of 5-2.

The Huskies look to get their first victory against Proctor on Friday.
