Huskies Dominate in a 5-0 Shutout on Kennedy Field

The Huskies hit Kennedy Field eager to bounce back this Saturday, taking on a fired-up Proctor team fresh off an overtime win the night before. Missing two regular starters, the Huskies showed their flexibility, stepping up to fill new positions and adjust quickly. While it took most of the first quarter to find their rhythm, the team locked in with just three minutes left in the period.

Shoutout to our defensive unit for holding strong early on, keeping their sticks low and making powerful clears out of the circle. A standout moment came when Ella Fischetti made an incredible defensive save on the goal line, clearing the ball away to keep the game level.

The scoring opened with six minutes remaining in the first quarter, as Julia Loughlin found the back of the net. Just over two minutes later, the Huskies drew a corner, where Cara’s excellent insert found Kennedy, who quickly passed it back to Julia for a hard, high shot that soared past Proctor's defense.

Throughout the second quarter and into the second half, the Huskies maintained solid midfield play and relentless pressure. Midway through the third quarter, Lily Thomas capitalized on a rebound in front of the Proctor goalie, scoring to extend the lead to 3-0. Go Lily!

The Huskies stayed sharp, knowing they couldn’t let up. With 4:31 left in the game, Emma MacPherson, stepping into a new position at forward, capitalized on the change and added another goal to make it 4-0. With just 1:28 remaining, Julia sealed the game, scoring her third goal of the day to complete her hat trick and secure a commanding 5-0 victory.

A big shoutout to Julia for her third hat trick of the season, and to the entire team for a great all-around effort. The Huskies look forward to two crucial Lakes Region matchups next week. Go Huskies!
