The Huskies hit the field with energy and optimism today, but it was a challenging match from the start. Middlesex came out strong, but the Huskies rose to the challenge, matching their intensity and playing to their level. The first half was a back-and-forth contest, with both teams fighting for control. Middlesex managed to break through with a goal about seven minutes in. However, Kennedy Walker responded just before the end of the first quarter, scoring a fantastic goal off an offensive corner to tie the game.
As the game progressed, the heat started to take its toll, and we entered halftime trailing by one. Despite a valiant effort in the second half, Middlesex capitalized on a few key opportunities, drawing corners and converting them into goals. The Huskies worked tirelessly, leaving everything on the field, and they should be proud of the determination and grit they displayed throughout the game.
Though we came up short, we are far from defeated. The team is already focused on preparing for the next challenge, eager to notch some wins as we begin league play. We're confident that the hard work will pay off, and we’re excited for what’s ahead!
