Huskies Lose to a Strong Cardigan Mountain Team

The JV-B Huskies returned to action on Saturday as we hosted Cardigan Mountain School in front of our home crowd. We opened the game with tremendous energy and confidence thanks to Levi, who caught fire early and knocked down back-to-back three-pointers. His hot shooting put NHS ahead 6–0 and lifted the entire team’s spirits.
Cardigan responded by increasing defensive pressure, and midway through the first half they began applying a full-court press that made it challenging for us to establish our offensive rhythm. Despite the pressure, Jerry and Steven each knocked down a two-point basket, giving NHS additional sparks on offense. Defensively, the boys worked hard, with JerryStevenDeclan, and Ethan each picking up personal fouls while continuing to compete with discipline. NHS finished the first half with three team fouls.
By halftime, Cardigan had built a commanding lead, and in the second half they continued to push the pace. Our players, however, showed determination and kept battling. LeviJerry, and Steven each added another two points in the second half, keeping NHS on the scoreboard and continuing to look for scoring opportunities. The Huskies again totaled three team fouls in the half, competing hard but staying composed.
Although the final score favored Cardigan 45–16, our team walked off the court with their heads high. The boys demonstrated excellent sportsmanship, humility, and a commitment to learning from every possession. The game provided valuable experience—especially in handling full-court pressure—and the team is already looking forward to applying what we learned in future practices and competitions.
We are proud of the effort, attitude, and teamwork the boys displayed throughout the afternoon. Go Huskies!
