The Huskies traveled to Winchendon for their first regular season game of the season. Winchendon applied the pressure early with their strong 2-3 zone defense and tough drives into the paint. New Hampton kept it close for much of the first half with some key buckets from Colin Flanders and some big rebounds from Tommy Meany. However, one of Winchendon’s players got hot and hit five threes in a row. This turned into a major scoring run that the Huskies could not recover from.
Some key contributors for the Huskies were Colin Flanders (15 points), Max Moore (8 points) and Tommy Meany (8 points). New Hampton looks to bounce back in their home opener Friday against Proctor.
