Huskies Hold off Hoosac for a 69-63 Road Win

The Huskies jumped out to a 35–21 first-half lead and held off previously undefeated Hoosac for a 69–63 road win on Wednesday.

Chloe Dix, Casey Stores, and Serenity Lancaster scored from all three levels in the first quarter, while strong team defense held Hoosac to single digits.

Ava Perry took over in the second quarter, pouring in 10 points to help New Hampton head into the break with a 14-point advantage. Stores and Abby Schrader set the tone defensively, hounding Hoosac’s guards and disrupting their offensive rhythm.

Hoosac heated up after the break, winning the third quarter, but the Saints still trailed by 11 heading into the fourth. Sophomore Saige DeJesus ran the point with confidence, while New Hampton's strong rebounding efforts limited the Saints to one shot on most possessions.

The Huskies stayed poised as Hoosac gave a final push in the fourth quarter. Rebounding, disciplined defense, and some clutch 3-pointers from Dix and Elyse Ngenda held Hoosac at arm's length. Late-game free-three throws by Dix, Ngenda, Perry, and DeJesus secured the win for New Hampton.

Dix led the way with 16 points, while Perry and Lancaster added 14. DeJesus (9), Ngenda (8), and Stores (7) rounded out a balanced scoring effort. Dix also contributed a team-high seven rebounds and four assists. Lancaster, Ngenda, Perry grabbed 5 boards apiece.

New Hampton (12–4) hits the road again on Friday for a rematch with Newman at the New Balance Basketball Court in Boston. Tip-off is at 4pm.
