Balanced Team Performance Lifts New Hampton over St. Paul's
The Huskies set the tone early with relentless defensive pressure and balanced scoring in a road win over St. Paul's School.
New Hampton jumped out to a quick start in the first quarter, forcing turnovers and converting in transition to build an early double-digit lead. Ava Perry '27 was a defensive stalwart with numerous steals and deflections, while dishing 4 assists and netting 8 points of her own.
All 12 players contributed in today's win. Saige DeJesus '28 led the way with 14 points, attacking off the dribble and finishing strong in transition. Post-Graduate Kailey Sullivan added 11 points, providing steady scoring in both halves. Also in double-digits for the Huskies was first-year Libby Dahn, who chipped in with 10 points, including an And 1 play in the third quarter. Abby Schrader was tough on the boards grabbing a team-high 5 rebounds, while Casey Stores was tops in steals with 5.
St. Paul’s battled throughout, but New Hampton’s pressure defense and unselfish play proved too much to overcome. NHS improves to 3-0 and continues to build momentum as they get set to host Newman School on Saturday. Tip-off is at 3:30pm on the Mark Tilton Court.
