New Hampton shot 43% from the floor and 85% from the foul line in today's 71-63 victory over AAA League opponent St. Andrew's today. Three Huskies finished the game in double-figures: Elyse Ngenda netted a game-high 31 points, while Serenity Lancaster and Shannon O'Leary chipped in with 22 and 11 respectively.
New Hampton played team basketball dishing 18 assists on 24 buckets made. Every NHS player who got into today's game had at least one assist. Ngenda led the team with 5 and Adriana Hernandez had 3. New Hampton had a slight edge on the boards as well with Lancaster pulling down 9 boards and Ngenda with 7.
With one minute remaining in the game, the Huskies held a 1-point lead (64-63). Lancaster and Ngenda went a combined 9-for-9 from the charity stripe in the fourth quarter to help secure the 71-63 win.
New Hampton improves to 16-7 as they enter the final week of the regular season. The Huskies will host Brewster Academy on Wednesday, travel to Tilton on Friday night, and celebrate their seniors on Saturday at home vs. Winchendon.
