The Huskies defended their home court against a hot shooting Rectory team.
The Varsity B Huskies took to their home court on Friday afternoon looking for their first win of the season. A quick 7-0 run put the Huskies on top, but Rectory responded with a flurry of three pointers to tie the game at 15. Rectory would go on to hit 8 threes in the first half, but New Hampton was able to get the ball to the rim and maintain an advantage. When Kieran Sullivan put in a buzzer beater three to end the half, New Hampton held a 37-25 lead. In the second half, Rectory was unable to maintain their hot shooting, and New Hampton pushed the advantage to 21. Led by Kieran Sullivan's 14 points, the Huskies evened their record on the season at 1-1. Jackson Flanders contributed 13 and Sarp Oskan added 12. Harry Jenkins, Bruce Fa, and Nik Hermanns rounded out the scoring, along with stout defense from Jayden Jones and Landon Jones. New Hampton now pauses for Winter Break and resumes play on January 10th at Kent's Hill.
