Huskies Battle In Opening Road Loss

The Huskies took to the road for their first matchup of the 2024-25 season. Point guard Sarp Oskan led the team in scoring with 19 points. Winchendon took an early lead with an active full court press, which caused turnover troubles for New Hampton. The Huskies regrouped, and with under five minutes to play in the first half, Winchendon's lead was cut to 12. A Winch run to end the half pushed the lead to 18, and from there the hill was too difficult to climb. The Huskies, however, kept fighting. Several bench players hit big shots in the second stanza, many of which were their first baskets as Huskies. JJ Jones, Michael Scibelli, Mark Langlitz, Noah Natale-Schmitt, Landon Jones, and Nik Hermanns all contributed their first hoops of the year. From the starters, Kieran Sullivan chipped in 8 points. New Hampton will open their home slate next Friday, December 8th against Rectory School.
