New Hampton Drops Back-to-Back Home Games

Huskies were looking to bounce back from a tough loss the night before against #1 Newman. St. Thomas More, another highly regarded AAA opponent made the trip up North.

New Hampton opened the game up early, executing offense at a high level, creating easy shots and capitalizing on defensive breakdowns by STM. The Challencors settled for incredibly tough shots early, which also led to New Hampton getting easy opportunities early in the shot clock.

In the second half, New Hampton could not make the looks they created for themselves at the rim, missing multiple layups and put back attempts. We also were undisciplined defensively, allowing STM to get to the double bonus with 11 minutes to go. We held a 1 point lead late, but had an unfortunate bounce that led to STM taking their first lead in the second half with under a minute to go. We were unable to climb back and dropped our second straight game.

We had four in double figures: Chad Cook (21 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist), James Sanderson (18 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists), Wesley Waddles ( 15 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal) and Jayden Harrington (15 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists).
