The Huskies were looking to avenge a loss to the Cardinals just a few days ago in front of a raucous Husky crowd.
It was an offensive barrage from both sides to start them game as each team was trading 3's back and forth. Newman grabbed an 11 point lead 12 minutes in, but thanks to back-to-back 3's from Wesley Waddles and a Chad Cook layup, New Hampton was able to cut the deficit to 3 with 5 minutes to go. Each team traded buckets and we entered the half up 2.
In the second half, Newman started off strong defensively, forcing a lot of tough shots by the Huskies and then were able to capitalize on the other end, extending their lead to 9 with 11 to go. New Hampton fought back again, thanks to 2 more 3's from Waddles, cutting the lead to 3. We held a 5 point lead late, but were un able to hold on, missing an attempt to win the game with a few seconds left with the ball down 2.
