Huskies drop heartbreaker to Cushing

Huskies dropped a hard fought battle vs. Cushing Academy during the NEBL championship weekend. In the first half, New Hampton was able to go on an early run that was feeding their offensive confidence. We then went scoreless for 6 minutes, but were able to keep the game close with our defense.

 

In the second half, each team traded runs of 5-8 points, and it was a back and forth game. We were able to get some stops late that allowed us to get out and run to get easy buckets. With 8 seconds left, Cushing got to the free throw line, and made both putting them up one. On the ensuing possession, we were unable to get a shot off to win the game.

 

We had two players reach double figures: Mason Blackwood (21 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals and 1 block) and Naz Meyer (15 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 assist).
