Huskies are the Undefeated Lakes' Region Undefeated regular and Postseason Champions!
NEW HAMPTON, NH --
The huskies face off against St. Paul's in the Lakes' Region championship rematch, hoping to reclaim the trophy for the first time since 2017. Both teams started off strong and eager to get something going. St. Paul's opened the scoring off a husky D-zone breakdown to take an early 1-0 lead. However, the huskies quickly responded with a goal from Caroline Thomas '25 who separated from the defender to tuck the puck into the net. 1-1 going into the second. The second period was back and forth, and lots of penalties were called for both sides, however no one could capitalize on their chances. St. Paul's regained the lead with about 2 minutes to go in the second. The huskies had fire to start the third to try and tie the game. Caroline Thomas '25, again, separated herself rom the defender in front of the net, got the puck, and scored to tie the game at 2. Husky goalie Elizabeth Vincent '27 continued play well and kept St. Paul's off the board for the remainder of the period. The huskies could not find the go-ahead-goal, so the game went into OT. OT didn't last very long because Kelsey Baker '26 scored the game winner off a rebound in front to seal the deal for the huskies. the huskies ended 11-0 in Lakes Region play and earned both the regular season and post season championship. The huskies will begin NEPSAC play as the #1 seed in the small school tournament.
