Huskies Remain Undefeated in lakes' Region season, Secure 2025 Lakes' Region Regular Season Champions

The huskies were at home in their final regular season game against KUA. Both teams had a lot to play for, the huskies can secure the 2025 Lakes' Region Regular Season Champions and keep their Elite 8 tournament hopes alive, and KUA can possibly get into the Lakes' Region Playoff tournament with a win. A lot riding on this game for both teams, and therefore, both teams came out hard. The huskies dominated possessions in their offensive zone, but struggled at times to breakout of their D-zone or complete passes. Lilly Thomas '26 opened the scoring tucking in a loose puck off a beautiful net-drive from Addy Peel '26. Huskies lead 1-0. However KUA's forecheck forced a turnover in the middle of the husky zone, and they capitalized to tie the game heading into the second. The second period was very similar to the first in terms of possession and physicality. The huskies definitely picked it up this period, and were better about completing passes. However, no one could finish their chances, so the game remained tied heading into the third. The huskies definitely played their best period in the third, continuing to improve their forecheck, possessions, and passing. Goaltender Elizabeth Vincent '27 continued to play well to keep KUA off the board. Trinity Walsh '25 scored off a beautiful centering pass from True Thompson '25 to regain the lead 2-1 with about 12 minutes to play. However, KUA forced another turnover in the huskies' zone and tied the game once again, 2-2. It wasn't until the final minute of the game that the Huskies really took control that period, and it paid off as True Thompson '25 scored the game winning goal of a beautiful shot that just squeaked through the goalie with 20 seconds to play. The huskies hold on to win 3-2, capping off their undefeated year in Lakes' Region play and securing the Secure 2025 Lakes' Region Regular Season Title. The huskies begin their post season play at home on 2/28 against Holderness at 4:30 for the Lakes' Region Semifinal game.
