The huskies were looking to get back in the win column after a disappointing 3-2 OTL to Tabor just two nights before. The girls came out strong, dominating Holderness in their own zone. The huskies' forecheck was clicking, as they did not let Holderness break the puck out of their zone for extended periods of time. The huskies had lots of chances in the first, but could not solve the Holderness goaltender. They did not allow a shot against for Holdernes at all in the first period. 0-0 going into the second. The huskies continued their dominance in the second, continuing their forecheck and offensive pressure. Goaltender Cara Kuczek '26 saw 4 shots in the second and answered each shot to keep Holderness off the board. The huskies continued to test the Holderness goaltender, but still could not find the back of the net. The huskies again continued their dominance into the third, as they were all over the Holderness D and forwards. They kept Holderness to just 1 shot in the third, and continued their offensive zone dominance. Kennedy Walker '25 scored right around the 10 minute mark off a well-placed shot from the slot to take a 1-0 lead. Shortly after, Trinity Walsh '25 scored a pretty goal off a mini breakaway to add to the husky lead. Both teams continued to play physical throughout the third, but Holderness was no match for a strong New Hampton team. The huskies win their first home game 2-0 against Holderness. They are back at home on Friday for a HUGE rematch game against Deerfield.
