Huskies Downed in OT

NEW HAMPTON, NH --

The huskies were back at home for their second home game of the season against Tabor Academy. Tabor came out strong, scoring a quick goal off a bad bounce in front to an open girl to take a 1-0 lead about 10 seconds into the game. This quick goal stunned the huskies, and they clawed back at Tabor to try and tie it, but they were unsuccessful in the first. Goaltender Elizabeth Vincent '27 kept Tabor at bay, making key saves in the first to keep the score at 1-0 going into the second. The huskies had a better start in the second as they started to establish their forecheck and create chances. The Tabor goalie had an answer for each of the huskies' chances. Then, Tabor got a 2-on-1 chance in which they capitalized on, adding to their lead to make it 2-0. The huskies answered, however, as True Thompson '25 put the team on her back, scoring a beautiful goal off a hard individual effort. 2-1 going into the third. The huskies continued to claw their way back to tie the game, and had their fair share of chances in the third. However, with around 10 minutes to go they got into a bit of penalty trouble as they had about 4 minutes of PK, with a 5-on-3 for about a minute. Elizabeth Vincent '27 and the huskies kept Tabor off the board to keep their chances of tying the game alive. The kill shifted momentum in their favor, and they started to really generate offensive chances. With about a minute left, the huskies entered the zone with patience and poise, which allowed them to set up True Thompson for her second goal of the game to tie it. The huskies tried for the go ahead goal, but ran out of time, so the game headed to OT. The huskies were on the powerplay for 2 solid minutes of OT, and had numerous chances, but could not finish any of them. Tabor went down on a 1-on-1 and threw it on net, which ended the game for Tabor  as they took the win. The huskies are back at home against Holderness on Monday
