The huskies played a strong game in their third game of the Cushing tournament against Deerfield. The game went to a shootout, in which New Hampton came up short. Both teams started strong and had their fair share of chances and the first. no one could find the back of the net so the score remained at 0 going into the second. Both teams continued their strong start in the second. The huskies dominated puck possession and Emma MacPherson ‘26 was able to Capitalize on a breaks away to take the lead 1-0. However Deerfield responded and tied the game before the end of the period. 1-1 going into the third. The third was very back and forth, and both goaltenders played lights out to keep the game tied at 1. No one could capitalize on their chances in the third or OT period, so the game went into a shootout. True Thompson ‘25 was the first shooter for the huskies and capitalized on a nice five hole tuck, but the other huskies were unsuccessful, resulting in the shootout loss.
