Huskies Lose to Groton in OT in Small School Championship Rematch

ASHBURNHAM, MA—

The Huskies kickoff their tournament in the small school championship rematch against Groton. Both teams came out hard and physical, and had their chances early. No one could capitalize in the first, keeping the score at 0-0 heading into the second. The second period started the same, with both teams eager to score and take the lead. Groton scored first to take a 1-0 lead. However, the huskies responded quick, with Kennedy Walker ‘25 putting the huskies on the board to tie the game at 1. 1-1 going into the third. The Huskies dominated  Groton in the third, as they put heavy pressure on the Groton goalie, but could not solve her. Husky goaltender Elizabeth Vincent ‘27 played lights out to keep the huskies in the game. The OT period was filled with husky chances to end the game, however they could not capitalize on their chances. A Groton odd man rush ended the game for the huskies in a tough 2-1 OT loss
