Vincent, Huskies Near Perfect in Win Over Milton

MILTON, MA --

The huskies are back on the road against Milton Academy for their second game of the year. Both teams came out to a strong start. The huskies, however, dominated on their forecheck, limiting Milton's time in the offensive zone and their shot opportunities. Halfway through the period, Caroline Thomas '25 opened the scoring, taking a redirected shot from Addy Peel '26 off the face and in the net. No injury on the play as it hit her in the cage. Goaltender Elizabeth Vincent '27 got her first start as a husky and fought off the limited shots she faced in the first period. The huskies went into the second with a 1-0 lead. The huskies continued to play strong, and Milton was physical, resulting in a few powerplays for the huskies. Kennedy Walker '25 scored her first of the season in style, on the powerplay and off a pass from True Thompson '25 and Trinity Walsh '25. Katie Usilton '26 scored her first of the year, just a minute after Kennedy's goal to take a commanding 3-0 lead over Milton. However, Milton did not hold back, as they came out firing with numerous chances. Vincent had an answer for each shot to remain perfect going into the third. The huskies continued to dominate in the third, as Julia Loughlin '25 scored her third of the year to make it 4-0. Shortly after that, Drew Hayhurst '25 scored her first of the year on the powerplay off a centering pass from Kelsey Baker '26. Milton came at the huskies hard in the final 9 minutes of the game, but Vincent continued to answer every shot she faced. Katie Usilton '26 scored her second of the game with one minute left, from a nice pass from Addy Peel '26 to make it 6-0. Vincent ended the game with her first shutout of the year, and as a husky. The huskies return home for their home opener against Governor's academy on 12/11 at 4pm.
