Home Opener Against KUA

The Huskies are back at it after a week's break from play. New Hampton hosted KUA in the team's first home game of the season. From the first puck drop, the game was fast and physical. KUA picked up the game's first two goals leaving the Huskies down 0-2. But the Huskies came roaring back with a beautiful pass from Shunsuke Kurata to Chase Fitch, sending Fitch on a breakaway where he deked the goalie and buried the first NHS goal. Just before the second, Joe Greco tied the game with a crucial rebound. Into the second and third periods, the action continued with back-and-forth goals from both teams. Griffin Taylor scored two clutch goals for New Hampton, beating the KUA goalie with great shots. Halfway through the third period, the Huskies were up 4-3 but couldn't hang onto the lead with the pressure from the visiting team. The game would end in a 4-4 (OT) tie. Hurst Tasha played stellar in net, keeping his team in the game throughout three periods and OT. Next up, Elite Cyclones at home on Friday.
