Huskies Skate to a 1-1 Tie in Their First Game Back

The huskies were very excited to hit the ice for the first time after a long break against a strong BB&N team. The huskies started off well in the first, getting some good chances in the offensive zone. BB&N also started the game off strong, creating their own chances. The first period was very back and forth, with limited penalties being called. Both goaltenders made some big saves to keep the score at 0-0 heading into the second. The huskies started the second off strong, but ultimately gave up a goal to a strong BB&N offense, going down 1-0. Shortly after going down a goal, a penalty was called against BB&N and the huskies went on the power play. The huskies got some quality shots, and Julia Loughlin '24 put the girls on her back to snipe the BB&N goaltender, tying the game at 1-1. The rest of the period was back and forth, but no one else found the back of the net, so it was 1-1 going into the third. Both teams came out strong in the third and had their fair share of chances. Goaltender Vera Lee '24 made some big saves to keep the game tied at 1. No one was able to score in the third, so the game headed into OT. The huskies started OT on the PK and were able to kill it off. Not much offense was generated by either team after the penalty, so the game ended as a 1-1 tie after OT.
